The OTPF provides a basis for practitioners to use when treating a client. By providing areas of occupation and factors that affect the occupations a client participates in, an OT can use this as a guide to know how to work with a client. I think it is helpful in that it provides a general idea about what occupations and factors to look at without putting an OT/client in a "box", it still leaves us room to use our imagination and other resources to provide best services to individuals rather than just telling us what to do without taking into consideration the client's personal life/factors.
