Thoughts on OT Theory

When considering the many theories of occupational therapy, I found examples of the theories put into action to be very helpful. Because it is the most researched and contains many accessible examples, the MOHO (Model of Human Occupation) seems like a great model, and I believe that with more understanding I would like to use this model. For the time being, a model that seems to-the-point and applicable is the PEO (person-environment-occupation) Model. In the article "Putting OT Theory Into Action", author uses an example of her mother's injury and return home to explain how the PEO would have helped her adapt to her new situation. It focuses on the balance of the person, their environment, and the occupations that they participate in. When these are balanced, occupational performance occurs. I believe that each of these considerations are critical to understand when considering a specific client and that this theory embodies each factor well.
